“A light in the darkness.

Pat Sheveland‘s Confident Grief Coach and B.R.E.A.T.H.E Facilitator Certification program came into my life during a “dark night of the soul”, a time of deep loss and need to reinvent my life. Having worked for many years with grieving families, I knew the territory of the program. However, I was blown away by how much thought, heart, and intention are woven into this program. Guided by insightful and profound tools and practices, within a brilliantly designed process, Pat’s program proves it’s possible to find peace and beauty within the experience of grief and loss.
Pat has created a truly unique and transformative grief coaching program, unlike any other I found. As a professional, I feel equipped with first-class training to be a Certified Grief Coach and B.R.E.A.T.H.E Program Facilitator. As a participant, the program was life-changing and healing on so many levels. Wherever you are on your journey, Pat has the skills, experience, and capacity to guide you to become a Confident Grief Coach; and she offers unwavering support and encouragement each step of the way. Pat, and this program, are truly a light in the world.”

“I researched a lot of grief coaching programs, and Pat Sheveland’s Confident Grief Coach program clearly stood out from the rest. She has an engaging personality, coupled with a robust, action-oriented, highly effective toolkit for future grief coaches. As a graduate of the program, I still feel supported and have a great deal of resources available from Pat; this enables me to focus on helping others as opposed to starting a grief coaching business from scratch. I’ve definitely grown both personally and professionally as a result of this program!”

“Pat, I just wanted you to know the value of the Master Mind class for me. I had an "aha" and a shift in my thought process for my presentation today when you pointed out the obvious.... The program for the umbrella of grief, including divorce, is the BREATHE program! Anyway, I was excited and just had to share!”
Cindy, Graduate CGC Program
“Almost 2 years after my husband's unexpected death, I was functioning, keeping busy through my days, and even having times of fun. But my soul was joyless, and my heart was still so broken, I could physically feel the pain in my chest. I had experienced the death of my young son almost 25 years before, so I knew firsthand how much work I needed to do to make some sense of it all. I came across Pat's B.R.E.A.T.H.E. Program and it was exactly what I needed to not just move on from grieving my loved ones, but to move forward with them. This process also helped me cement my thoughts on how I could help others who have experienced similar loss. I completed the Confident Grief Coaching Program with Pat and can't say enough good things about it. Each week, we experienced the details of the B.R.E.A.T.H.E. program in detail and also learned to coach each other with feedback from both Pat and the other participants in the co-hort. The curriculum that Pat created is powerful, well thought out and organized and she is an excellent teacher, supporter, and coach!”

“I decided to take this course even though I am already certified as a grief coach because I found Pat’s book midway through my previous class, and I thought “this is the class I really wanted to take.” Part of my reasoning was that she had a clearly laid out program to follow and BREATHE is the acronym for the program. It covers everything from breathing practice, because often grieving people forget to breathe, to testing to determine if your client is far enough along in their grief work to benefit from grief coaching to co-creating a support group for the griever and self-care, visualizations and so much more. The program is based on Pat’s experience as a grief coach and includes what she has learned from her grief clients, are techniques that work. Best of all our class time on-line is mostly spent being the coach or the client or the feedback observer, and Pat supervises your work in class, too. You get a lot more experience time coaching with actual feedback in her program. Also, you actually participate in going through the whole program yourself, so you know what every segment of the program feels like yourself. It is a very closely knit class group with a small class size and we all cheer each other on. Pat sets the tone with her positivity, energy and eagerness to share her learning, and you as a student are a very active partner in the process. It definitely is the way to go, if you want to leave the program being the confident grief coach Pat promises to help you become. I am having a great time becoming the confident grief coach that I was meant to be.”

“Pat Sheveland and the B.R.E.A.T.H.E. method came along at the perfect moment in my coaching career. As a Family Caregiver Coach, I knew there was a missing piece in my toolbox. That piece was Grief. I recognize that grief is a companion along the road of life, no matter where we are. Grief deserves to be witnessed and honored. The training offers skills I’ve been able to incorporate in my work with caregivers immediately. When we acknowledge this universal experience, we can support another person’s healing and a return to wholeness.”

“Who knew that at the time of taking this course, I would encounter anticipatory grief in my own family? The program is so skillfully put together that this became a journey into insight on how to make a difference in my life. I have been a nurse for 34 years with a background in trauma, hospice and pain management. For years I volunteered with a support group for kids with cancer. The program has laid out a path on how to help others return to joy. I am very grateful to Pat Sheveland for this gift and opportunity. I hope that many more learn this model and we can spread healing and empower others in the most needed times of their lives when encountering grief, loss, abandonment and sadness. I am now ready to make a difference!”
