OUR METHOD
The B.R.E.A.T.H.E. Coaching Model for Grief™, created by our founder Pat Sheveland, is a structured, action-driven approach to healing. Rooted in positive psychology, Human Design, ancient healing practices, and Pat’s decades of experience as both a nurse and coach, this model empowers clients to recognize what they need physically, emotionally, and spiritually on their grief journey.
Unlike quick fixes or surface-level “band-aid” solutions, the B.R.E.A.T.H.E. Model guides clients to discover self-generated pathways to healing, resilience, and renewed purpose.
B: Being Aware of Who You Are (Creating Awareness)
R: Reimagining Your Life (Creating Awareness, Rest, Reflect, and Create a Vision)
E: Engaging Your Tribe (Creating Individualized Support System)
A: Accessing Your Inner Healer (Creating Individualized Health and Wellness Plan)
T: Transforming Your View (Reframing Thoughts/Beliefs)
H: Honor Your Loved Ones and Yourself (Reflecting on Memories and Planning for Self-Care)
E: Embracing Life Purpose (Creating Insight and Action)
Why This Matters
During the 12-week course, the program builds step by step, helping clients strengthen confidence, expand emotional awareness, and access practical tools for healing.
This model is not designed to replace therapy. Instead, it complements and enhances it. Whether someone is newly grieving or years into their bereavement, the B.R.E.A.T.H.E. Coaching Model offers clear, compassionate, and actionable steps for working through the emotions and challenges of loss.

When you had your pre-enrollment interview, you knew that this was the program for you or you would not have signed up to begin with.
We trust that you made the right choice.
However, we do not want you to start the program if you decide you are unable to be fully committed due to life circumstances so we have a very limited refund policy.
We believe in you and are committed to your success. We will hold that space of success for you throughout the program and that is why our refund policy is structured in the following way:
- For Cancellations made prior to program start date: Cancellation of a course must be made a minimum of ten (10) business days prior to the course to be eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made less than ten (10) days before the course (but prior to class start date) are not eligible for refund of the enrollment down payment but will be refunded any non-down payment fees previously paid by student. Written notice of cancellation shall be effective on the date the withdrawal is received by The Confident Grief Coach School. Refunds will be made within thirty (30) days following receipt of cancellation or withdrawal requests.
- For cancellations requested after program start date: Because of the work we do, we do recognize that significant life-altering events can occur. Should this happen and interfere with you completing your course during your scheduled you may request a one-time transfer of your registration to another class. Requests are not guaranteed to be granted and will be reviewed by the Director of the School on a case-by-case basis.
At this time, we cannot process any other forms of financial aid but during your enrollment call, we will discuss other opportunities that you may find helpful to seek financial support to attend the program.
For organizations, a multi-person discount is available upon request.
